<p>Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA and requires 5 days/week in-office collaboration.&nbsp;</p> <p>We are looking for a Technical Writer to lead the documentation of data collection, deployment, and other customer-facing information.</p> <p>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Develop, update, and manage Operational Process Manuals, Repair Manuals, Safety Information Guides, and other essential documents</li> <li>Gather information from subject matter experts (such as engineers, software developers, product managers, safety leads and technicians) to ensure accurate and effective documentation</li> <li>Standardize content using documentation tools</li> <li>Assist in creating operator and technician-friendly training content, including step-by-step guides and visuals</li> <li>Create dashboards and tracking tools to monitor documentation updates, report progress, and optimize content based on feedback</li> <li>Develop new and/or revise existing content as necessary and on-time, based on the request</li> <li>Create and own a change request and revision control process for all published documentation. Manage said tasks in a&nbsp; collaboration software dashboard such as JIRA.</li> </ul> <p>Requirements:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Technical writing experience (software and/or hardware) with knowledge of relevant content development tools</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree, certificate in Technical Writing, or equivalent professional experience</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, strong personal organization, collaboration, and time management skills. Ability to be creative and open-minded when approaching problems</li> <li>Markup language experience (such as HTML, XML, DITA XML, or SGML)</li> <li>Structured authoring tool experience (such as oXygen, XMetaL, structured FrameMaker, or Arbortext Editor)</li> <li>Content Management System (CMS) experience (such as SDL/RWS, etc.)</li> <li>Style guideline experience (Simplified Technical English, S1000D, MIL-STD, MMSTP, or custom style guide creation or contributions)</li> <li>Great communicator&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>The US hourly range for this contract position is $55-$70/hr.</p> <p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.</p>
