Sourcegraph builds a code intelligence platform that semantically indexes and searches large codebases across commercial, open-source, and cloud repositories, with its Cody AI assistant combining large language models with code-graph context for code-aware completion and chat. Founded in 2013 by Quinn Slack and Beyang Liu, the company is an all-remote organization headquartered in San Francisco; in December 2025 it spun out its Amp agentic coding tool into a separate company and refocused on code search and understanding, with Dan Adler as CEO. Sourcegraph raised a $125M Series D in 2021 led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $2.6B valuation, bringing total funding to roughly $223M.
