*Note: This position requires presence in our San Jose office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.


The AI Process Improvement team helps Lambda scale its finance operations through automation, workflow optimization, and applied AI solutions. We partner closely with accounting, tax, FP&A, and operations teams to identify high-impact process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and improve the quality and accessibility of financial information.

As an AI Process Improvement Intern, you’ll help evaluate and implement practical AI-driven solutions across accounting and tax workflows. You’ll work on real operational challenges, help build scalable internal tools and processes, and gain exposure to how emerging AI technologies are being deployed inside a fast-growing technology company.


What You’ll Do

  • Analyze accounting and tax workflows to identify opportunities for AI-enabled automation and process improvements

  • Build and maintain centralized documentation, process maps, and knowledge resources for finance operations

  • Evaluate and test AI tools, large language models, and workflow automation platforms for accounting and tax use cases

  • Assist in developing solutions for invoice processing, reconciliations, tax data gathering, document summarization, and research workflows

  • Prepare presentations, recommendations, and implementation materials for finance leadership

  • Partner with accounting, tax, and operations teams to improve efficiency, data organization, and reporting processes

  • Support pilot projects involving AI-assisted workflows and operational automation

You

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field

  • Strong interest in AI applications within accounting, tax, and business operations

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, structured data, and process-oriented problem solving

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, or workflow automation platforms

  • Exposure to accounting, tax, or financial operations concepts

  • Experience with process mapping, automation tools, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx

  • Interest in operational efficiency, systems improvement, and emerging technologies in finance

Salary Range Information

This is an hourly role, eligible for overtime. The hourly rate for this position has been set based on market data and other factors. However, a hourly rate higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
